International Fair – 2017
Held twice a year, in May and November, the International Fair is a huge celebration of community oneness organized by the center. The International Fair buzzed with energy and activity right from the start to the end. Providing enough activities for all age groups, the fair attractes a huge crowd in both the seasons. The fair includes an open stage with various performances such as a Samul nori act, which is traditional South Korea folk music, acrobatics, dance and rituals, the very talked about K-Pop dance performances, an Indian band and Dj, a Zumba performance, a choir concert and an entertaining Irish dance act. For all our shopaholic lovers, there is a huge flea market selling everything under the sun from clothing, jewelry, bags, children’s items, household good, homemade teas and spices and much more. And for the foodies, there will be literally no end. With some of the famous restaurants around Geoje and others opening food stalls at the last fair, the crowd was very enthusiastic to trying these different cuisines. Along with the restaurants, several home cooks also put up their food for sale offering scrumptious homemade delicacies. The fair also includes lot of activities for children including face painting, tattoos and other games. Aikwangwon, home for disabled too will be present at the fair, to sell the handicrafts made by the children in the shelter to help support the children.
The idea behind organizing an International Fair is to give all the expats and the local residing in Geoje a chance to interact with each other, participate in different activities and provide a chance to showcase special talents. The International Fair 2017 will be an event filled with loads of fun and frolic.
